The Elim Church Day Nursery is located in Windermere Road, Southend on Sea, Essex and provides the highest standards of care and child development in a family atmosphere.
The children are cared for by our qualified and dedicated staff in a happy and stimulating environment. The Nursery provides full day and sessional care with pre-school education. We are registered with the Local Authority and Ofsted.
Children are admitted to the Nursery from the age of six weeks, up to compulsory school age.

Nursery Care and Education
The Nursery has an education programme for three to five year olds. The children quickly discover that learning is fun, as they are gently encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace.
Our programme follows the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ guidelines, which help children progress in all areas of their development. The children also have the opportunity to learn basic French, and enjoy a physical education programme with additional regular visits from the Southend United football coaches.
Our building is brightly and attractively decorated, The facilities include a computer area, a bike play area and a garden with soft play surfaces.
Our baby unit, with specialised staff qualified in baby care, provides an excellent environment for infants from six weeks old. These rooms create safe and soothing surroundings, where babies receive individual attention.
Our qualified nursery staff comprise NNEB, PPA Diploma and NVQ levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. We also provide training for students.
Meals
Freshly cooked food is served on the premises and we have been awarded a five-star food hygiene rating. (Vegetarian options are available). We do not serve food containing nuts.
- The children receive meals as follows:
- Breakfast for babies - As required
- Toast and Milk – from 8.00am
A cereal breakfast can be provided on request. - Morning Snack – from 9.45am
Fruit, Cheese snack biscuits, Dry Cereal, Raisins, Malt loaf, etc. - Lunch – from 11.45am
A choice of menu and fresh fruit daily.
(Example meals include, Fish Cakes, Omelette, Roast Meats, Cheese and Onion Rolls, Mince and Pasta, Ravioli, Scrambled Eggs, Chicken Casserole, Flan.
All meals are served with a variety of Vegetables, Potatoes or Rice and followed by deserts, Fruit Crumble and Custard, Ice Cream, Jelly, Mousse, Rice Pudding, etc. - Afternoon snack / Tea – from 3.00pm
Toast and toppings, Cake, Rolls, Fruit, Sandwiches, Pancakes, Crumpets etc.
Fees
We aim to be competitive in our fees, without compromising the quality of care, staff or facilities. Our fees are reviewed on an annual basis.
We offer a range of packages, per day or per week please telephone 01702 461458 to discuss the options available to you.
Fees are payable weekly or monthly in advance to the Nursery administrator.

Vouchers
The Nursery will accept vouchers and Government grants for children from 2 years of age (specific parental criteria may apply to grant funding). Children can continue in our pre-school class until they go to school.
There is a standard one off registration fee for all children of £10.00.
After School Care
We offer fun games,
computer and art facilities for children under 8 years old. Open until 6pm, includes tea.
School drop off and collection from Porters Grange & Sacred Heart Schools.
8.00am-9.00am and 3.00pm-6.00pm.
We also offer School Holiday Clubs at affordable prices.
